Cookingdom Level 44: Moon Cake Walkthrough & Guide

Welcome to Cookingdom Level 44! In this delightful level, you'll be crafting traditional Moon Cakes, a symbol of reunion and happiness. This recipe involves preparing fillings, making dough, molding, and baking. Precision in ingredient combination and careful execution of each step will lead to perfect, golden Moon Cakes.

Step 1: Preparing the Grain Bases - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Cook two different types of grains that will form parts of the fillings or dough.
  • Actions:
    1. Two bowls appear: one with yellow grains, one with white grains.
    2. A bowl of oil appears; pour it into the frying pan on the left burner.
    3. A bowl of white liquid (likely water or milk) appears; pour it into the pot on the right burner.
    4. Both burners activate.
    5. Pour the yellow grains into the oiled frying pan.
    6. Pour the white grains into the pot with the liquid.
    7. Two empty bowls appear above the pan and pot respectively.
    8. Use the wooden spatula to stir the white grains cooking in the pot.
    9. Use the slotted spatula to stir the yellow grains cooking in the pan.
    10. Once cooked (signaled by a chime/visual cue), pour the cooked white grains from the pot into the empty bowl above it.
    11. Similarly, pour the cooked yellow grains from the pan into its designated empty bowl.

Step 2: Creating the Moon Cake Dough - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Prepare the outer dough for the moon cakes.
  • Actions:
    1. A ball of white dough appears on a wooden cutting board, with a rolling pin nearby. The bowl of cooked white grains (from Step 1) is also present.
    2. Tap repeatedly on the dough to knead and flatten it slightly.
    3. Pour the cooked white grains onto the flattened dough.
    4. Use the rolling pin: drag it over the dough and grain mixture to incorporate them and roll it out into a larger, flat sheet.
    5. A rectangular baking tray and a knife appear.
    6. Use the knife to cut the rolled-out dough into three circular pieces.
    7. Drag each circular dough piece onto the baking tray.

Step 3: Preparing the First Filling Layer - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Create the initial yellow filling for the moon cakes.
  • Actions:
    1. The baking tray with three dough circles (from Step 2) is present. Bowls of cooked yellow grains (from Step 1), chopped green herbs, and white shredded ingredients appear.
    2. Pour the cooked yellow grains onto the cutting board.
    3. Add the chopped green herbs to the yellow grains on the board.
    4. Add the white shredded ingredients to the mix on the board.
    5. A knife appears. Use it to cut the mixed yellow filling into three smaller circular portions.
    6. Drag each yellow filling circle and place it on top of one of the white dough circles on the baking tray.

Step 4: Preparing the Second Filling Layer & Stacking - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Create the richer, darker filling and complete the filling stack.
  • Actions:
    1. The tray with dough circles topped with yellow filling is present. New bowls appear: dark brown paste, chopped pink/white ingredient (e.g., ham/candied fruit), yellow egg yolks, and more white shredded ingredients.
    2. Pour the dark brown paste onto the cutting board.
    3. Add the chopped pink/white ingredient to the paste.
    4. Add the egg yolks to the mixture.
    5. Add the white shredded ingredients to the board.
    6. A knife appears. Use it to cut this mixed brown filling into three smaller circular portions.
    7. Drag each brown filling circle and place it on top of one of the yellow filling layers (which are already on the dough circles on the tray). You now have three stacks: dough, yellow filling, brown filling.

Step 5: Encasing the Fillings - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Wrap the prepared filling stacks with an outer layer of dough.
  • Actions:
    1. Two of the dough circles (from Step 2, previously on the tray) are now moved to the cutting board. The tray holds the three assembled filling stacks.
    2. Drag one assembled filling stack from the tray and place it onto one of the dough circles on the cutting board.
    3. Tap repeatedly around the edges of the dough to wrap it upwards, fully encasing the filling stack.
    4. Repeat this process for a second filling stack and dough circle.
    5. Move the two fully encased mooncakes back to the tray. One assembled filling stack remains on the tray, not yet fully encased.

Step 6: Molding the Moon Cakes - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Give the moon cakes their traditional decorative shapes.
  • Actions:
    1. Fish Mold:
      • A single, plain dough circle (from Step 2) is placed on the cutting board. A golden fish-shaped mold appears.
      • Place the plain dough circle into one half of the fish mold.
      • Take the remaining assembled (but not fully encased) filling stack (from Step 4/5) and press it into the fish mold on top of the dough.
      • Tap repeatedly on the mold to close and press it.
      • Open the mold and remove the fish-shaped mooncake. Place it on the cutting board.
    2. Multi-Shape Press:
      • A yellow, circular multi-shape press (with 4 cavities) appears. The tray now holds four fully encased mooncakes (two from Step 5, and two more that were presumably made off-screen or just appeared).
      • Drag each of the four encased mooncakes from the tray into one of the cavities of the press.
      • Close the lid of the press by tapping.
      • Open the press.
      • Remove each of the four newly shaped mooncakes and place them onto the baking tray.

Step 7: Baking the Moon Cakes - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Bake the molded moon cakes until golden brown.
  • Actions:
    1. A countertop grill/oven appears. The tray holds the four shaped mooncakes, and the fish-shaped mooncake is on a separate plate.
    2. Place two of the shaped mooncakes from the tray onto the grill. Close the grill lid.
    3. Wait for the baking animation (lights, steam).
    4. Once done (chime/visual cue), open the grill and move the two baked mooncakes back to the tray.
    5. Place the next two shaped mooncakes onto the grill. Close, bake, open, and return them to the tray.
    6. Place the fish-shaped mooncake onto the grill. Close, bake, open, and return it to its plate.

Step 8: Plating and Serving - Cookingdom Level 44

  • Objective: Arrange the Moon Cakes attractively with tea.
  • Actions:
    1. A festive scene appears with a red gift box, three small serving plates, and two teacups. The baked fish mooncake is on a larger plate, and three of the other baked shaped mooncakes are on the tray.
    2. Drag the fish-shaped mooncake to the top serving plate.
    3. Drag each of the three shaped mooncakes from the tray to one of the remaining small serving plates.
    4. A teapot appears.
    5. Drag the teapot to the first teacup to pour tea.
    6. Drag the teapot to the second teacup to pour tea.
    7. Sprinkle green specks (possibly osmanthus or matcha powder) over the arrangement.

Congratulations! You've successfully created beautiful and delicious Moon Cakes, mastering Cookingdom Level 44 with flawless execution!
